Bed & breakfasts (casas)
When your reservation is based on bed-and-breakfast stays (casas particulares):
- A 20% deposit is required to secure your booking.
- The deposit is nonrefundable, but it can be reused if you change dates at least 7 days before the trip starts.
- You may change the tour dates only once. A second reschedule means the original 20% deposit can no longer be reused.
- The remaining balance is typically paid in cash or in advance, depending on the cash flow needed for the trip.
Boutique hotels and regular hotels
Reservations that include boutique hotels or regular hotels require a 40% deposit to confirm the booking.
- Half of that deposit (20% of the tour cost) is nonrefundable, but may be reused for a reschedule if you cancel or change at least 7 days in advance.
- The other 20% is refundable only if you cancel 30 days or more before the trip starts.
- Boutique hotels and regular hotels also have their own cancellation rules, which apply in every case.
Cancellation and refund examples
Example 1 — B&B only. Your trip uses regular casas. If you cancel 7 or more days in advance, the 20% deposit is not refunded, but it can be applied to a rescheduled tour.
Example 2 — Mixed stays. Your trip mixes boutique hotels and casas, so the deposit is 40% of the total. If you cancel 30 or more days in advance, we refund 20% of the tour cost; the remaining 20% can go toward a rescheduled tour.
Example 3 — Late cancellation. You cancel less than 7 days before the start date. You are not eligible for a refund, and the 20% deposit cannot be used for a future tour.
Additional notes
All deposits are calculated on the total cost of the tour and accommodations.
To reuse a deposit, the new tour dates must be finalized when you cancel.
